Our Instructors & Staff Members
Our Instructors have spent many years devoted to training in the art of Taekwondo and other martial arts and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as teachers and also mentors.
Through extensive testing, certification and tournament level competition, our staff has attained mastery in this martial art and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to their students.
Here are a few of Northwest Martial Arts's instructors and other staff members, starting with Phil Tobey:
Phil Tobey (Black Belt/3rd Degree)
Mr. Tobey is a 3rd-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He is also an ACMA black belt instructor certified to specifically teaching children. He is also certified in Tai Chi and cardio kickboxing. In addition he is a certified FAST DEFENSE instructor which is one of the three major women's self-defense programs nationally. His studio is the only martial arts studio offering classes in the ISD196, Community Education
Bruno Borer (Black Belt/3rd Degree)
Bruno Borer is a 3rd degree black belt with 20 years experience in martial arts. Mr. Borer teaches many of our classes ranging from beginners to black belt.
Bernard Melby (Black Belt/1st Degree)
Bernard Melby 1st degree, teaches our adult adaptive class and assists with families, too. Bernard has 10 years experience teaching at our studio.
Jim Moran (Black Belt/3rd Degree)
Jim Moran 2nd degree bb He is also certified in Fitness Training
Nicki Carrigan (Certified Personal Trainer)
Nicki is Certified Person Trainer with certification an several fitness venues.
Alicia Bamick (Certified Personal Trainer)
Alicia is Certified Person Trainer with certification an several fitness venues.
